Cardiff & Vale Safeguarding Board Child Practice Review Workshop - Embedding Learning into Practice
A Child Practice Review Workshop will be held on Monday 14th November 2022. The workshop is aimed at multi-agency professionals and will highlight the learning and recommendations from the recently published CVSB Historical Child Practice Review. This will be an effective mechanism in order to disseminate and embed the learning into practice and will be facilitated by the independent reviewers.

Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern (DPVC) Soup Club Lunch begins on October 24th at Murchfield Community Centre. Soup, tea/coffee and a cake are provided for £3 with the option to add a dessert for an extra £1.50.

Barry Community Choir is back
Barry Community Choir is back – after a break over August – with a few changes. We are still rehearsing at the lovely St John’s Church on Breaksea Drive, Barry Island on Wednesdays, but at the NEW TIME OF 7 – 8.30PM. Not only a new time but with a new Musical Director.

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) will be hosting the Big Volunteer Fayre for charities and community projects to showcase their projects and recruit volunteers.
Learn to Run with WRP: Our next Beginners course starts on the 12th September
Women Running Penarth’s new course for complete beginners, or those who are returning to running after a long break, is starting on Monday 12th September. The course is for 10 weeks and will use the ‘Walk to run’ method: each session will start with a gentle warm up and then alternate between walking and short intervals of running.
Barry Amateur Swimming Club do very well in National Competition and invites new members
On Saturday 9th of July Barry ASC held the Cardiff Bay Sprint Meet in the International Swimming Pool in Cardiff Bay. Twenty One Clubs sent swimmers and Barry Swimmers also competed. BASC welcomes new swimmers from 7 years old who have achieved at least a Level 7 in Swimming Lessons.
Barry Camera Club is pleased to announce its 2022 Photographic Exhibition
The exhibition will be held at ART CENTRAL GALLERY, King Square Barry, CF63 4RW
Opening ceremony will be held on Saturday 20th August 2022 at 11 am to 1pm.
Visitors are welcome to attend. Admission is free.
It will then remain open from 20th August through to the 30th of September from 9:30 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday and 9:30 am to 3:30pm on Saturdays.
St Donats Choral present their summer concert – A Summer Celebration
This Sunday the 3rd of July, St Donats Choral present their summer concert – A Summer Celebration for the public at CF61 Community Centre in Llantwit Major. Starting at 2pm, the repertoire will feature an informal collection of favourites, including Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine.

Cardiff and District RAYNET will be attending the Barry Scout and Guide fete on Saturday 2nd July. The purpose of the visit is to raise awareness of the services RAYNET can provide to the community.

Vale of Glamorgan Festival of Coworking marks growth of flexible working project
As part of the Cowork Local Project, the three-day Festival will run from 21 - 23 June and sees venues open their doors to coworking, whilst showcasing local role models with a series of lunchtime talks from founders such as Chloe & Jeff Smith from Big Moose and Hannah Williams from Tiny Rebel.
