Volunteer - Café Assistant - Cardiff & Vale Hospice

We are looking for volunteers aged 18+ to help the catering team provide tasty meals and snacks for patients, relatives, staff, members of the public and other volunteers in the hospice café.   

Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:

• Operate the till and handle cash

• Serve staff, patients, volunteers and the general public refreshments

• Clear the tables and keep them clean as and when required

• Maintain stocks of condiments and other items

• Keep the café clean and tidy

• Help with other related tasks when necessary

What skills or experience do you need?

• Confident, outgoing and friendly personality

• A good understanding of confidentiality

• Reliable and committed

• Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative

• Experience of dealing with the public

• Ideally some catering experience and knowledge of how to use a till

• Knowledge of food hygiene

Time commitment: Time commitment is variable for each opportunity, negotiable with the organisation.
Training: Full induction and training will be provided. Support and supervision.
Expenses reimbursed: Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
