Vale of Glamorgan community-based COVID-19 vaccination clinics

Vale of Glamorgan residents eligible for their spring COVID-19 booster vaccines will now be invited to attend one of our community-based clinics.  

We have launched our spring COVID-19 booster programme and people in the most vulnerable groups across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan have started to receive their invitations.  

As part of our ongoing efforts to make it as convenient as possible for people to receive their vaccines, those living in the Vale of Glamorgan will now be invited to receive their spring booster at one of our pop-up clinics. 

We will be utilising the Well Pharmacy mobile unit to run the following community-based clinics throughout April and May:  

• Llantwit Major Rugby Club: 12th – 26th April  

• Barry Hospital: Saturdays and Sundays (commencing 22nd April) 

• Cowbridge Health Centre: 27th April – 12th May  

• IKEA: 15th – 26th May  

Spring COVID-19 vaccines will only be available to those who have been invited and no walk-ins will be offered.  

Following advice from the expert Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), the vaccine will be offered to: 

• Adults aged 75 and over 

• Residents in care homes for older adults, and 

• Individuals aged 5 years and over who are immunosuppressed 

Vaccinations will also take place at Woodland House Mass Vaccination Centre (MVC) on Maes Y Coed Road, Cardiff, CF14 4HH and will run between 1 April and 30 June.  

Getting boosted is the best way to protect yourselves, your loved ones and the community from serious illness, so please attend your appointment when invited.  

In addition, people who have still not had their initial two-dose universal primary course of the Covid vaccine, which was offered from December 2020 to all the population aged over five, are able to do so up until June 30, 2023. You can walk in for your first and second doses at Woodland House MVC.  

If you are 18 or over you will need to have 56 days (eight weeks) between your first and secondary doses. If you are under 18, this is 84 days (12 weeks).
