Treasurer of the Board of Trustees

Memo Arts Centre are looking for a Treasurer of the Board of Trustees

Duties include:

  • Ensure the organisation has a satisfactory system for holding in trust for its beneficiaries any funds or property, and for investing to the greatest benefit of the organisation, within the constraints of the law and ethical investment practices

  • Ensure the organisation’s financial dealings are prudently and systematically accounted for, audited, or independently examined, and publicly available

  • Review financial standing orders on a regular basis

  • Ensure that the annual budget is presented to the Board of Trustees in good time for approval before the start of the financial year

  • Discuss any detailed issues on the quarterly accounts so that the Trustee’s board can have confidence of independent scrutiny

  • Ensure that the programme for completing the annual accounts enables these to be signed off by the Board of Trustees in line with the requirements of the Charity Commissioners

  • Review the appointment and fee of external auditors, making recommendations to the Board as appropriate

Duration: Three years
Based:
The Memo Arts Centre, Gladstone Road, Barry
Remuneration: This is a voluntary post
Time Commitment: flexible, but it is envisaged that the Treasurer should be available for Memo duties up to 3.5 hours per quarter (average)
Accountable to: Charity Commissioners and Members of the Board of Trustees
