Tablet Loan Scheme Digital Champion Volunteer

An opportunity to manage an iPad loan service and support people to develop their digital skills and confidence

We are looking for someone who is 18 years old or older, who is available to volunteer on a Wednesday from 1.30 - 3.30pm.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and wants to help train/teach people so they have the digital skills and confidence to go online. The volunteer will also be managing the iPad loan service. This is a service where an iPad can be loaned out to customers who would benefit from using it.

What you will be doing

  • Speaking to people about the iPad loan service and seeing if this could benefit them

  • Showing people how to use the iPad, preparing the device for use and answering any questions people have about the loan service

  • Supporting people to develop their digital skills and confidence. You could be teaching them how to set up an email address, download an app, searching the internet or showing them how they can save money by being online.

What type of person are we looking for? Someone who:

  • is enthusiastic, proactive, passionate and approachable

  • has good communication skills and can explain things clearly and simply

  • is patient and understanding

  • is reliable

  • has good digital skills

  • has used an ipad/iphone before

You don’t need to be a technology expert, as full training will be given. Digital Communities Wales will provide 3 online training sessions and Newydd will provide a face to face training session on how to manage the ipad.

Time commitment: This opportunity takes place on a Wednesday from 1.30 - 3.30pm.
Training: Full training is provided.
Expenses reimbursed: Unfortunately, this organisation is unable to reimburse a travel expense.
Selection procedure: Informal discussion, application form completion, 2 references and a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisation).
If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact us using the form below.
