Play Area Volunteer Visits
The Invisible Walls Family Services Team aims to improve the quality of visits for children and their families, to help maintain family ties and enhance relationships, and to make a significant contribution to the visiting environment for visitors and residents at HMP & YOI Parc.
We provide freely accessible, welcoming and safe play areas within the visiting halls for children aged 2-10 years old. Children under 2 are welcome, accompanied by a responsible adult.
Volunteers aged 18+ will be engaging with the children in the play area, doing crafts, playing board games. We are also looking for ideas to create a seasonal board for the wall so any ideas would be welcome.
There is an intervention called "language and play" volunteers can be involved in, the delivery, it is run by a member of staff and its purpose is to strengthen the relationship and bond between both dad and his child by learning through play.
