MeTime Online - June Support Sessions for Carers

Monday 5 June: 2-3pm: What caring looks like in Wales To start Carers Week, join our campaigns officer who will discuss the latest information about caring in Wales from the census and the latest Carers Week research.

Tuesday 6 June: Volunteer and support carers (Drop-In session) Come and join Jane Trezise, our Carers Wales Volunteer Officer to discuss the benefits of volunteering and to gain an understanding of the volunteering opportunities at Carers Wales.

Tuesday 6 June, 6-7pm: Carers Week 2023 – Work and Employment Join Careers Wales and Carers Wales on Tuesday 6 June at 6pm to find out your next steps when returning to work or career planning, your options and job preparation.

Friday 9 June: 12-1pm: Carers Rights Come and join our Policy Officer Jake Smith who will outline the legal rights that you have as an unpaid carer in Wales from the Social Services & Wellbeing Act and other pieces of UK/Welsh legislation. There will be opportunity for discussion.

Saturday 10 June, 10am: Wellbeing morning - Mind, Body and Mood This interactive session will offer ideas and techniques to improve your mood by understanding the power of the mind to change the way we feel, the way we move, and the way we behave.

Saturday 10 June, 11.30am: Wellbeing morning - Healthy Relationships Using the basis of Transactional Analysis, this session will provide you with a greater insight into how to build on a healthy relationship, and what gets in the way. These simple techniques can be used when you need to be more confident or assertive, they can be used to diffuse a potential argument and will provide an insight into why we like some people while others can wind us up without even trying!

Wednesday 14 June, 2-3pm: - Quilling Art Session Come and join us for a quilling art session where you will create your own greeting cards. Great for beginners or those who have had a go before! Quilling involves using strips of paper that are rolled, looped, curled and twisted to create different shapes, and glued together to create decorative designs.

Monday 19 June, 12pm-1pm: Mindfulness Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body.

Wednesday 21 June, 2pm-3pm: Self-care for carers: finding a healthy balance Nicole Pruce is a person-centred counsellor who will deliver this session for Carers Wales to discuss how you can provide yourself with some self-care while maintaining your busy caring role and how to find a healthy balance.
