Information and advice from Guide Dogs Cymru

Guide Dogs Cymru offers information and advice to help people of all ages in Wales find ways to live actively, independently and well with sight loss. We are experts in getting around safely, dog care and welfare, family support, assistive technology and much more. Find out how we can offer support by visiting www.guidedogs.org.uk

Adults wishing to apply for a guide dog or sighted guide should ring our Guide Line on 0800 781 1444 or email information@guidedogs.org.uk

We also provide a range of services to support children with sight loss, and their families. We can equip a child with the skills needed to live an independent and active life. We hold events that connect families living with sight loss, and have our next South Wales event in August 2023. For more details, visit Family Events | Guide Dogs.

The Guide Dogs My Time to Play programme is a free service that helps children with sight loss aged from birth to four develop a broad range of skills through play in a group setting. Parents can meet others in a similar situation and share experiences, while picking up skills and knowledge to  help them support their child’s early years development with confidence. We’re offering virtual sessions via Zoom starting May 2023. Find out more by visiting our website: Help for children and families | Guide Dogs

There are many opportunities to get involved with Guide Dogs Cymru and support our life-changing work, including fundraising and volunteering – just see our website. If you’d like to know how to help someone with sight loss, our free virtual Introduction to Sighted Guide Training will teach you the basics on how to confidently guide an adult with sight loss, should they need it.
