Llais Cardiff & Vale Open Door Event: Engaging with neurodivergent people, families and carers

Llais Cardiff & Vale are happy to announce that they will be holding an Open Door Event to support neurodivergent people, families and carers, in getting their voices heard around their experiences of accessing health and social care services in their local areas.

The Open Door Event will take place on Thursday 5 December 2024, 12.00 till 2.00pm at St Pauls Community Centre, Arcot Street, Penarth, CF64 1EU.

It will be a great opportunity for people to get their voices heard, and to find out who we are being the Citizens Voice Body for health and social care, our role and the complaints advocacy support that Llais can provide people.

We would like to engage with as many people as possible within the community and in their own words. However, we understand that not everyone may feel comfortable or able to talk to us during the event, so if you would prefer to write down your experience you can do so, either before, during or after the event.

We understand that some places and/or discussions can become overwhelming for individuals and therefore we have also organised a ‘quiet zone’ away from the main room if people would prefer to be in a quieter space. We will also be supplying tea, coffee and refreshments for those people taking part, and holding a free raffle to those attending on the day, with a chance to win a prize at the end of the event.

In order to get as much reach as possible, we would be grateful if you could share this amongst your networks and contacts.

If anyone is interested in attending or would like more information about the event, please don’t hesitate to contact the local Llais office on 02920 750112 or email cardiffandvaleenquiries@llaiscymru.org  If anyone is interested in attending, could they also state whether you are a neurodivergent person, family or carer please.
