We are looking to recruit a Community Development Officer to be involved in the delivery of the brand new Wales Bereavement Information and Support Service (BISS) which Diverse Cymru are implementing in partnership with Marie Curie.
BISS has been established to improve access to vital bereavement support across Wales. We will be extending our services to more people across Wales as well as creating new services and resources to better support those affected by bereavement and loss, particularly under supported communities and groups.
In this varied and rewarding role, our Community Engagement Officer will work alongside Marie Curie’s Project Manager and other key stakeholders to deliver the Wales Bereavement Information and Support Service (BISS) project. The role will particularly focus on the engagement of people from minority ethnic groups, Black Asian and minoritised communities, Asylum Seekers and Refugees and people with protected characteristics.
Teamwork and communication skills are essential as coproduction and community development will be at the heart of this role. You will be raising awareness of the project by developing culturally accessible communications and ensuring the reach the community and monitoring services to identify and provide targeted support to those who have not accessed the service, ensuring the service offer is appropriate to all.
We’re looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and evidence of providing a person-centred approach as you’ll be tailoring resources and services to the needs of individuals.
