Invitation to the Vale Public Services Well-being Plan Workshop 8th September 2022
As part of the development of the Public Services Board (PSB) new Well-being Plan we will be holding a workshop on Thursday 8th September 9.30 – 12.30 at the Memo Arts Centre, Barry to discuss what the PSB will be focusing on over the coming years.
Many of you will have been involved in the development of the Well-being Assessment which was published by the PSB earlier this year and we are keen to continue the conversation as we develop our new Well-being Plan. The new Well-being Plan will look to address the key findings of our Well-being Assessment which identified the following key issues for the PSB to address;
climate change and the environment
inequalities linked to deprivation
access to services
the needs of an ageing population
At the workshop we will be considering the findings of the assessment together with the outcomes of engagement and discussions over recent months to help shape the Well-being Plan. The workshop will be an opportunity for the PSB to share some of the work it is taking forward and to hear your ideas about how we work together to tackle climate change, how we make the Vale more Age Friendly and how we address inequalities. As part of these discussions we will be considering some of the more immediate action we need to be taking but also what are some of the longer term challenges. The workshop will be an opportunity to consider what we all need to do in response to the climate emergency both within our organisations but also as part of the community. We will also be discussing how we make the Vale more Age Friendly, improving access to services, opportunities to get involved and how we make the Vale a good place to grow old. Following on from work that is already taking place in response to the cost of living crisis we want to discuss how we work with some of more deprived communities and what changes we need to make to address inequalities in the Vale.
This workshop is one part of the engagement and consultation we will be undertaking to develop our plan and we are keen to have a wide range of people at the workshop and hope that you or a colleague will be able to join us to discuss these important issues.
