I would like to volunteer but I have some questions first...

Q. What volunteering opportunities are available?          

A. A wide range in many categories are now available both in/outdoors

 

Q. Can I volunteer when I am on benefits?                      

A. Yes, so long as you only claim your out of pocket expenses

 

Q. Do I need particular skills?                                           

A. No

 

Q. How much time do I have to give to volunteering?                

A. An hour, a few hours or a day a week – flexible

 

Q. Will I be given training?                                                

A. Yes

 

Q. Will I have my travel expenses reimbursed?                         

A. Yes, most organisations will reimburse a travel expense

 

Q. Can I volunteer if I have a criminal record?                           

A. Yes, depending upon the opportunity you choose

 

Q. How old must I be to volunteer?                                   

A. Some opportunities are for age 14+ and lots for age 18+

 

Q. Where are the opportunities available?                       

A. Across the Vale of Glamorgan

 

Q. What will I gain from volunteering?                                        

A. Confidence, a reference, new skills, CV enhancement, social interaction, health benefits and more!

 

Q. How do I get involved in volunteering and who do I contact if I have further questions?
