FREE Migrants Rights and Entitlements courses

Citizens Advice Cardiff and Vale are delivering free training on Migrants Rights and Entitlements on behalf of Welsh Government.

The purpose of the training is to ensure EU Citizens (and other migrants) living in Wales can receive services to which they are entitled.

The training will increase awareness and knowledge for public facing staff about the rights of migrants in Wales, with a particular (but not exclusive) focus on EU Citizens.

By the end of the training, attendees will:

·        Know and understand what services EU Citizens are eligible to receive, and the differences, in terms of entitlements, between those with settled and pre-settled status;

·        Know and understand what services other migrants are eligible to receive;

·        Respond to queries with up-to-date, knowledgeable advice;

·        Know how to make accurate case work decisions;

·        Understand how migration status links to UK Government Immigration Acts;

·        Be aware of any changes to eligibility caused by EU withdrawal and where to find accurate information about changes to eligibility in subsequent months;

·        Support and guide EU Citizens to ensure they understand and apply to receive any services which they are eligible to receive;

·        Recognise the support needs of an individual, regardless of their immigration status, and where the Social Services and Well-being Act may need to be engaged to provide support.

The training brochure with links to the available dates is here.
