Free flexible online training for Community organisations

We are delighted to announce that the Capability Development Programme for community led organisations working with older people has reopened. The programme is free and designed to support them with the skills and knowledge to run their services in challenging times. The programme is delivered by two partner organisations Moore Kingston Smith Non-Profit Advisory and colleagues at the School of Social Work and Social Care, University of Birmingham, with support from an external faculty.

The programme is delivered via four webinars which centre around a framework called RISE: Re-imagining Organisations, Impact, Sustainability (Financial) and Efficiency. Underpinnings are themes around governance, strategy, leadership and research capacity and collaboration. The webinars are supported with a series of stand-alone deep dive videos with subject matter experts. We recognise that a lot of community organisations are time poor, and it is difficult to commit to these types of programmes. We therefore offer three routes to access the programme:

  • Watch the content at your own pace without joining the webinars ( a recorded no audience version is available) or having any engagement with the cohort programme.

  • Join some of the webinars and watch the rest in your own time.

  • Commit to attending the webinars and becoming part of the 2024/25 Cohort, this will allow access to the end of programme residential and year two.

The programme is completely free, we just ask that organisations become members of the DMT Academy, and aside from the end of year residential delivered all is delivered online.

Year two takes the learning from year one and aims to support organisations to make a transformational change through action learning sets on the main RISE modules, seminars which are more in depth and the provision of small grants to allow them to work on a bespoke basis with members of the delivery team, to apply their learning to their organisation.

More details including how to register for the webinars can be found here: https://dunhillmedical.org.uk/news/capability-development-training-for-community-led-organisations/
