Dinas Powys sheltered housing residents enjoying their revamped garden

Dinas Residents delighted at the finishing of phase one of their community garden revamp. After many months of hard work and with the help of local firms the community garden phase one at Fairoaks has been completed.

To celebrate and thank all those public spirited local firms who donated so many wonderful items to the garden the residents are holding a barbeque. Without the support of volunteers who have given so much help to ensure that the community garden is now low maintenance the residents wanted to show their thanks in the only way they know how. We are hoping that there will be a good turnout. Again we are indebted  to both Asda`s and Tesco who have offered help towards the catering of the barbeque. It is satisfying to know that there are so many brilliant local companies that are willing to go the extra mile to help out in their local communities.

The residents are now looking forward to starting the second phase of the garden bringing the whole of the community garden to being low maintenance. The volunteers who look after the garden have kept a plot to grow vegetables which will be offered to the residents of the scheme to help out with the rising cost of living.

Anyone who wishes to get involved in the garden and are willing to offer a few hours to help out with the general upkeep would be more than welcome. Please contact  Pat McQuiston on 07904953136, Nichola Williams on 0779243576  or Lawrence Brooke on 07977306595. The residents would like to thank in advance anyone who can offer their help.
