Community Fund Wales - Disability Fund

The Disability Fund will provide support to organisations and groups supporting people living with disabilities in Wales. It’s important to us that this fund is informed by disabled people and their needs, therefore this criteria has been shaped by third sector organisations working with people living with disabilities.

*Please note* Community Foundation Wales is using the definition of disability outlined in the Equality Act 2010. “A disabled person is defined as someone with a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on their ability to do normal daily activities”

The Disability Fund will provide support to organisations/projects that:

  • Deliver emotional and wellbeing support to people with disabilities

  • Purchase equipment for people with disabilities, to improve their quality of life We will not fund equipment that is available from the NHS. It is recommended that you give examples of the types of equipment required in the application form.

  • Additional healthcare needs to improve quality of life, employment and/or independence

We will prioritise organisations and projects that are increasing accessibility to those who are underserved or vulnerable from the most deprived communities in Wales.

Grants Available

Organisations can apply up to £10,000 per annum for up to 3 years to support costs related to work supporting disabled people within the identified themes above and have an income of approximately £200,000 or below in the latest reported financial year. By approximate, we mean within 20% higher, but we would rather you call us to have a conversation about your financial position before applying, if you are unsure.  We acknowledge that groups may have had a hike in income during the past 2 years, due to the pandemic which isn’t reflective of a normal financial year.

  • Constituted Groups
