Community Development Job Vacancies with ACE in Cardiff

ACE - Action in Caerau & Ely is a community developed charity owned and run by the residents of Ely and Caerau in West Cardiff.

We are recruiting:

Job Title: GRACE Community Development Worker.
Location:
 Our Place Dusty Forge.
Hours: 37.5hrs per week, occasional evening and weekend working will be required.
Salary: £27,030 per annum
Contract: 
Fixed-term, until end of March 2023.
Closing date: Sunday 21st November 2021.

We are seeking an experienced Community Development Worker to take forward Community Development and Co-production approaches to improving support and outcomes for people on probation. You will work as part of a cooperative team with Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership (WRAP) and HMPPS Probation staff on the GRACE Project.

The GRACE project team are part of a wider HMPPS project called Grand Avenues, working in close partnership with the local Probation Service. Together we are transforming the way we all work with a cohort of men leaving prison and on probation who are returning to live in the Ely and Caerau area. We are drawing on each other’s strengths and knowledge, with a priority on coproduction of local solutions and working together with the men and their families and community networks to improve life outcomes and systems.

Job Title: Community Development Coordinator
Location:
 CAER Hidden Hillfort Community Heritage Centre
Hours: 37.5 hours
Salary: £30,600 per annum
Contract: March 31st 2023 (with strong possibility of extension)
Closing date: Sunday 21st November 2021

The Community Development Coordinator will be a committed and creative individual who will take a lead role in the future strategic direction of the new CAER Hidden Hillfort Community Heritage Centre, locating it at the centre of community driven regeneration efforts in Caerau and Ely.

With a sound understanding of community development principles you will work closely with a project team, community members and partners to develop community led activities that make use of local heritage and other assets to build community, create learning opportunities, challenge stigma and tackle poverty.
