Barry Dock Lifeboat Water Safety Adviser
The Water Safety Adviser aged 18+ is part of a team of 6 -7 persons contributing towards the delivery of the Barry Dock Lifeboat Water Safety Lifesaving Plans.
This is achieved by going into the community and offering the RNLI prepared water safety advice and work with local partners (groups/clubs) to offer preventative water safety messages and literature to targeted water users.
An example would be to engage with stand-up paddle boarders and open water swimmers in Jacksons Bay, Barry Island. This role can be performed with a buddy, or alone if confident to do so. It can be a very rewarding, the people are so appreciative of the advice and the scenery is stunning.
Time commitment: A suggested time commitment is a few hours per week, negotiable with the organisation.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Expenses reimbursed: Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed.
Selection procedure: Informal discussion, application form completion and 2 references.
