Assisting the Emergency Services

Volunteers aged 18+ (25+ for driving duties) are required to assist the Emergency Services, during Flood & Swift Water Rescue as well as  adverse weather conditions such as Storms, Floods, Snow etc. and Civil Contingencies.

Volunteers will also get to practice their skills by providing assistance at numerous events throughout the year at sporting events such as Fun Runs, Bike Rides, Parades etc., this will include the use of First Aid, Radio equipment, map reading etc.

Volunteers MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE.

Time commitment: We meet most Wednesdays at our base in Sully, but, may meet on other days and locations. The volunteering is on an ad hoc basis.
Expenses reimbursed: Unfortunately we are unable to reimburse any expenses.
Training provided: All volunteers will be provided with basic training - First Aid, Communications, Map reading, further training for specialist rescue will take place after 12 months service and volunteers will be expected to remain active for at least 2 years after qualification.
Selection procedure: Informal discussion, application form completion and 2 references and where required a DBS check (cost met by organisation).
