Afternoon Older Gents Club Volunteer

We would like a male volunteer, of a mature nature who can relate to older people, those in their 90’s, to run a friendly club in our residential home in Penarth.

We would like you:

• To deliver an afternoon gent’s club once a week; for eight gents in their 90s

• To supervise an activity trip out with an escort present too

• You would sit in our retreat and discuss a range of things including politics, day to day things, what's happening out side, listening to the residents’ life story's which they love to talk about and any other interesting topics

You would need:

• A friendly nature and good communication skills

• Confidence to speak as you will need to keep the conversation flowing

• Empathy with older people

If you enjoy the company of older people and have a caring nature, we are waiting to hear from you

Time commitment:  A suggested time commitment is 2 hours per week, Monday – Sunday in the afternoon, days and hours are negotiable with the organisation. 
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Selection procedure: Informal discussion, application form completion, 2 references and a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisation)
