  • What volunteering opportunities are available? A wide range in many categories are now available. Indoor, outdoor, organisation and community based. A taster of volunteering opportunities can include - befriending, activity groups, hospital volunteering, gardening, outdoor/conservation, driving, family support, disability, health, sports, youth work, cafes and charity shops and so many more - 450+ opportunities across the Vale of Glamorgan

  • Will volunteering affect my benefits? No - providing you do not receive any payment other than to cover your out of pocket expenses you CAN volunteer

    Do I need particular skills? No, you can learn new things and gain experience along the way

  • How much time do I have to give to volunteering? Offer as little as one hour weekly, or a few hours/day, negotiable with the organisation

  • Will I be given training? Yes. Organisations will provide full training along with an induction to the organisation

  • Will I have my travel expenses reimbursed? Yes, most organisations will reimburse a travel expense

  • Can I volunteer if I have a criminal record? Yes. It will depend upon the activity you want to get involved in

  • How old must you be to volunteer? A smaller range of opportunities available for 14+ and everything available for 18+

  • Where are the opportunities available? Across the Vale of Glamorgan (with a few in Cardiff too)
