Would you like to be a Befriender, Driver or Shopper?

If you are aged 18+, like older people and are compassionate, then we would like to hear from you.
Volunteering opportunities are available across the Vale including:

• Befriending Older People – telephone and face to face available

• Shopping for Older People – helping with the shopping and in some cases helping to put it away

• Driving – transporting older people to hospital appointments

Many older people do not see anybody from one week to the next. Their company is their television or radio.  Many will struggle to do their shopping, with poor health and cold dark nights.  Many do not have transport or know of anybody who could provide transport.

Are you the person who could be a much needed volunteer to an older person?

Time commitment: Variable depending upon the opportunity, negotiable with the organisation.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion, 2 references and a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisation).
