Why do People Volunteer?

People volunteer for many reasons, each reason as important as the other.

Whilst unpaid, volunteering offers many rewards:

  • Boosts confidence and self-esteem

  • Make new friendships and connections

  • Add structure to your daily routine

  • Utilise existing skills and acquire new ones. (No skills? No problem – training is provided!)

  • Enhance your CV and gain practical experience

  • Secure valuable references

  • Improve overall health and well-being

  • Explore potential career changes with a "taster" experience

Further information

  • Travel Expenses: Most organisations reimburse travel costs

  • Time Commitment: Offer as little as one hour weekly, or a few hours/day, negotiable with the organisation

  • Skills/Qualifications: None required; full training is provided
