In partnership with Pumping Marvellous | The UK's Heart Failure Charity, Cardiff and Vale Heart failure team will be at Cardiff City football stadium on 19th September,  offering walk-in heart health checks for anyone over the age of 40 without a pre-existing diagnosis of heart failure.

When and where is taking place?

  • Thursday 19th September

  • 10am – 3pm

  • Cardiff City Stadium, Leckwith Road, Cardiff, CF11 8AZ

Who is eligible for the test?

This test is available free of charge to those over the age of 40 who do not have a pre-existing diagnosis of heart failure. You must be registered with a GP in Wales to attend.

What does the test involve and how long does it take?

During the test, you will be assessed by a nurse and answer a series of questions about your health, this will be followed by a blood pressure check and an ECG.

If there are any concerns or abnormalities present, a finger prick blood test is available to identify signs of heart failure. If this is abnormal, there will be a cardiologist on site to assess you and advise on a treatment plan, which may involve a referral to your GP or further testing.

The test will take approximately 10-20 minutes.

Breathlessness, fatigue and ankle swelling are all signs of heart failure. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, your GP would be your primary choice or you can check your symptoms via the NHS 111 symptom checker: NHS 111 Wales - Check Your Symptoms
