New e-prescription request system for Community Paediatrics and the Neurodevelopmental Service

Community Paediatrics and the Neurodevelopmental Service at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board have introduced an electronic prescription request system for parents and carers.

This new electronic process has replaced the telephone order system to streamline and enhance the process, increasing efficiency and convenience for parents and carers. We now ask that all parents and carers use the online platform to request prescriptions for their child at least 7 days before the current medication runs out.

How to Request Prescriptions Online:

  • Visit our secure online portal forms.office.com/e/qhj53wCHP8.

  • Fill in the required information and submit your request.

  • Please allow 5 working days for your prescription request to be processed. You will receive a text message when your prescription is ready for collection, please bring your ID when picking up the prescription.

  • If you are a Cardiff patient, your prescription will be ready for collection at St. David's Children's Centre.

  • If you are a Vale of Glamorgan patient, your prescription will be ready for collection at Llandough Children's Centre.

We understand that these changes may raise some questions or concerns for you and our team is here to assist you throughout this transition. If you encounter any difficulties while using the new electronic prescription request system please call 02921 836789.

Observation Clinic Attendance Reminder

Additionally, we would like to emphasise the importance of attending your observation clinics. These clinics play a crucial role in monitoring the child/young person`s progress and adjusting their treatment plan accordingly.

Failure to attend may result in the following:

  1. Prescription Non-Issuance: Failure to attend the required observation clinics may lead to a delay in prescriptions being issued.

  1. Patient Discharge: Prolonged non-attendance without mitigating reasons may result in the discharge of the child/young person from our services.

We will provide advance notice for all observation clinics, giving you ample time to schedule appointments that align with your availability.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work towards providing you with the best possible patient experience.
