Volunteer with Celtic Capability Sailing
We are looking for volunteers to help keep our charity open.

Session Leader aged 18+: Celtic Capability Sailing (CCS) exists to provide sailing experiences for people who are disabled, vulnerable or otherwise disadvantaged. The Session Leader is the shore based leader, responsible for the safety and experience of the sailors while on shore. This pivotal role works closely with the sailing leader to ensure the highest of safety standards are adhered to at all times, all relevant policies and processes are being adhered to and all relevant information has been gathered and shared as appropriate. Full training will be given, and supervision provided for as long as both CCS and the role holder feel necessary.
The following opportunities are home-based.
Social Media Manager Volunteer aged 16+: To raise awareness of Celtic Capability Sailing (CCS), which exists to provide sailing experiences for people who are disabled, vulnerable and disadvantaged people. You would identify and pursue opportunities to grow the reach of CCS through social media. Maintain a public persona for CCS that at all times appropriately representing the charity, its aims and intentions. Supports the Fundraising and Social Media Managers as appropriate.
Marketing Manager Volunteer aged 16+: You would identifies and pursue opportunities to grow the reach of CCS through media and marketing opportunities other than social media. Maintain a public persona for CCS that at all times appropriately represents the charity, its aims and intentions. Support the Fundraising and Social Media Managers as appropriate. Act as an ambassador for the charities aims and ambitions.
Events co-ordinator Volunteer aged 16+: You would co-ordinate events on behalf of Celtic Capability Sailing (CCS), which exists to provide sailing experiences for people who are disabled, vulnerable and disadvantaged people. Events might, for example, raise awareness of the charity and its aims, seek to find new volunteers, support large scale fundraising events or provide bespoke solutions to high volume sailing days.
Bookings Secretary Volunteer aged 16+: You wold act as the first point of contact for people wanting to book a sailing session with Celtic capability sailing (CCS). CCS exists to provide sailing experiences for people who are disabled, vulnerable and disadvantaged people. The role will invovle gathering appropriate and sometimes sensitive information from the client, providing information about CCS and the sailing experience the client can expect, giving appropriate assurances and acting as an ambassador for the charities aims and ambitions. Booking clients to sailing sessions at previously agreed dates and times. May be asked to reschedule sailing if sessions cannot go ahead for any reason.
Governance Manager Volunteer aged 16+: The Governance Manager ensures that CCS is operating in compliance with regulations by ensuring appropriate governance is in place, and up to date. Working with the wider team, the Governance Manager ensures that volunteers are aware of the systems we operate and shape our actions on a day to day basis in order to comply with regulation and manage risk appropriately. Liaises with other roles as appropriate to ensure the governance structure is kept under review and is fit for purpose at all times.
Grants and Funding Manager Volunteer aged 16+: The Grants and Funding Manager seeks to maximise the number of grants and other funding available to CCS, within the limits of what we are operationally able to deliver. You would identify grant and funding opportunities for CCS. Working with the wider team, prioritise applications for grants and other funding based CCS’s operational capabilities and strategic aims. Develop ways of measuring success and impact, to report back to funders and for future development of grants and funding applications. Meet reporting requirements of any grants and funding awarded to CCS.
Fundraising Manager Volunteer aged 16+: To raise money to be used by Celtic Capability Sailing (CCS), to provide sailing experiences for people who are disabled, vulnerable and disadvantaged people. You would find and create opportunities to raise funds for CCS. Act as an ambassador for the charities aims and ambitions. Signpost inquiries to the appropriate person. Pass information on any fundraising events to the media team. You may also wish to recruit and manage a fundraising team
