Vacancy for Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer for the Community Council.

Are you interested in working as part of a team on local community projects? Do you have skills in administration and organisation? Would you like to work flexible hours from home?

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Clerk & RFO to the Community Council for the Electoral Ward of Peterston-super-Ely, in the Vale of Glamorgan. The Clerk will be responsible for the effective running of the Council and management of its assets, including the Memorial Fields, children’s play park and the St Peter’s Church Cemetery.

Working from home, the job holder will need to have a positive, flexible attitude, be able to meet deadlines whilst balancing priorities, be self-motivated, take ownership of areas of responsibility, be community minded and deal empathetically with members of the public in representing the Community Council. The Clerk will be required to attend monthly Council meetings and periodic sub committee meetings, as necessary.

The role requires good numeracy and literacy skills together with competent and up-to-date IT skills. A willingness to undertake training to fill skills and knowledge gaps is essential.
Salary and Working Hours
• Salary LC1 13-17 Spinal Points £11.97 - £12.95 per hour
• Starting salary dependent on competence, qualifications and experience
• Hours vary but will be on average approx. 25-30 hours a month
• There is the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension scheme.
