Tool Aid Charity in need of premises
Tool Aid Charity is in need of premises. The workshop would, ideally 130 sq mts, in the Penarth locality and suitable to be fitted out with six or so workstations including substantial metal workers benches with vice, electrical supply etc. The organisation to whom TAC passes the tools would then receive only good tools in working condition, as opposed to rusty / incomplete “feedstock”.
Ideally, a separate clean area for the storage and sorting of haberdashery and associated materials is also required. WC facilities, water / drainage (a coffee area!?), electric power (conventional 13 Amp) are all required.
Previously we enjoyed the sole use of just such a premises, however I am sure we would be happy to, part time, share something similar with another organisation, say 2-3 mornings a week.
Our main aims are to carry out the processes set out above, however, the social aspect, allowing retired people to get together in a common aim, is also very important, as is demonstrated in the hugely successful Men's Shed movement.
Yours sincerely, Roger Flambert. (Chair)
