Thinking about Volunteering?

We saw hundreds of volunteers give their time at the height of the pandemic and we would like to keep the momentum of volunteering flowing.

Have you ever thought about volunteering?  What you can do, who you can help, how you can get involved?  All things I am sure everybody has thought about at some point in time.

Now we are working in the new normal, there are a vast range of volunteering opportunities available in a variety of categories such as:

Support, outdoor, befriending, leafleting, social media, administration, mentoring, substance misuse, prisons, disability and health, community safety, charity shops, fundraising, youth work.

 By volunteering you can:

Build your confidence, skills and gain really valuable work experience, enhance your CV, improve your health and wellbeing, meet new people and get a great reference.  You can use your existing skills and also gain new skills along the way.

Time commitment will vary, depending on the nature of the volunteering opportunity. It can range from a half hour, a few hours or one day per week.  All negotiable with your chosen organisation.

You can volunteer whilst claiming benefits and most organisations will reimburse out of pocket expenses.

Check out our website and see a range of volunteering opportunities https://www.gvs.wales/volunteering or e-mail: volunteering@gvs.wales for further information.
