The sun shines on Cowbridge Tennis Club’s 24 Hour Fundraiser

Cowbridge tennis club’s major fundraising event of 2022 was a huge success thanks to everyone who took part in, supported and donated to the 24 hour on-court event, which was held from Friday 29th April to Saturday 30th April and raised over £2,000 towards improvements to the club’s facilities.

Many supporters from the local community and beyond took part in the event, playing tennis on the club’s courts over the 24 hour period and ensuring that at least one court was continuously in use. The club’s floodlights enabled play to continue through Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning.

A BBQ at the clubhouse followed the last play on Saturday afternoon, where players and supporters celebrated the success of the event and enjoyed the blissful weather.

The aim of the fundraiser was to raise money for improvements to the community facility, providing a more sustainable, welcoming and weather-proof environment for coaches, players and their families, as well as the wider local community.

Not only did the event raise an impressive £2,050 to go towards these improvements, it also brought an incredible buzz to the club, with over a hundred players and supporters getting involved.
