The GVS Vale Third Sector Winter Pressures Fund is now open for applications

Deadline for applications is 3pm on Tuesday, 14th December 2021

Third Sector Support Wales has made funding available for winter pressures.

The aim is to directly fund third sector activity, in the Vale of Glamorgan, that helps to alleviate pressures, create additional capacity/activity or extend existing activity where other funds are running out.  The funding is for not for profit organisations, working at a local level.

It is primarily a REVENUE fund, but can be used for smaller capital equipment, including consumables (eg purchase of PPE).  Organisations can apply for between £500 to £5,000.

Revenue costs include staff costs, events, refreshments, overheads etc

Projects are invited to apply under the following priorities.  The guidance for what can be funded isn't prescriptive, as long as the proposed activity relates to one or more of the priorities and organisations meet the eligibility to apply conditions.

  • Mental Health

  • Physical Health

  • Fuel Poverty

  • Community Transport

  • Food Security

All activity must be delivered by 31st March 2022.

To be eligible to apply you must:

  • Be a third/voluntary sector (not for profit) organisation and be independent of government, private and public sectors.

  • Ensure your project is for activities/services/communities in the Vale of Glamorgan.

  • Be an organisation with at least 2 authorised signatories.

  • Be an organisation with its own bank account or have a bank account in the name of the "Trustees of (named organisation)."

The Fund will not cover retrospective costs, activity for which there are other Welsh Government grants available and proselytising activities.

Please apply by referring to the Guidance and using the application form.  Applications should include a copy of your bank statement and your governing document to complete the application process and be e-mailed to ceri@gvs.wales

Decisions will be made by a Funding Panel in early January.

If you have any queries, please email linda@gvs.wales or ceri@gvs.wales
