Teaching Digital Skills and Confidence
Are you aged 18+ and can you help teach people to develop digital skills and confidence?
Technology has become an essential part of everyone’s life since the pandemic. Sharing your digital skills can help people in your community to get the most out of the internet.
You don’t need to be a technology expert, just someone who wants to help others to get online.
A few hours of your time could make a huge difference.
What will I be doing?
Supporting people in your community to develop IT skills such as contacting family and friends’ online, downloading apps, setting up an email account, searching the internet safely etc.
Supporting library staff to help people with basic IT questions and problems
This opportunity takes place within the nine Vale Libraries.
Time commitment: A suggested weekly time commitment is 2 – 3 hours, Monday – Friday available. Days and hours negotiable with the organisation.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed
Training: Training on technology and digital volunteering will be provided by Digital Communities Wales.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion, 2 references and a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisation).
