Statement regarding purchase of Redlands Surgery building

A spokesperson for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: "The Health Board is committed to securing the future of Redlands Surgery and ensuring access to primary care services within Eastern Vale.

“The Health Board has been involved in negotiations to purchase the current building. We can confirm that negotiations have now concluded, and the Health Board is finalising contracts to be exchanged following the usual due diligence associated with a property purchase.

“This will be a temporary measure and will house Redlands Surgery until a Wellbeing Hub is established, allowing the practice to expand its offerings within the community.

“We welcome the feedback given by the Eastern Vale residents and are encouraging everyone to engage with finding a suitable location for the proposed wellbeing hub that best fulfils the objectives and requirements of the Shaping Our Future Wellbeing in the Community programme.

“Together, the Health Board, local authority colleagues and residents will progress plans for a Wellbeing Hub in collaboration to meet the needs of the wider community before a proposal is submitted to Welsh Government for funding.”
