Recycle your old toothbrush with our new recycling programme

We use our toothbrushes twice a day and when the time comes to replace them, most end up in landfill sites across the UK.

At Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, we are working hard to reduce our environmental footprint and have launched a free toothbrush recycling scheme to make it easier to dispose of dental waste in an environmentally friendly way.

As part of our new programme, you can now recycle your old toothbrushes and other oral health products by simply dropping them into the blue recycling box at the main reception at the University Dental Hospital.

We welcome the following items

·        Manual toothbrushes

·        Electric toothbrush heads and covers

·        Flossing sticks and interdental brushes

·        Dental floss containers

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept:

·        Battery operated toothbrushes

·        Electric toothbrush handles

·        Outer packaging

·        Floss

·        Batteries

The University Dental Hospital is located at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. For visitor information, please visit University Dental Hospital (UDH) - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (nhs.wales) .
