Recruitment of non-executive directors to Public Health Wales
The Minister for Health and Social Services is looking to appoint two new Non-Executive Director roles, to join the Public Health Wales Board.
Non-executive Director (Local Authority)
Non-executive Director (Third Sector)
As a non-executive director, you’ll use your skills and experience to make a contribution to our vision of Working to Achieve a Healthier Future for Wales.
Public Health Wales plays an essential role in driving improvements in population health and well-being. Our goal is to reduce health inequalities, improve healthcare outcomes, protect the public and support the development of health across Wales.
Our Long Term Strategy, which we published in 2018, sets out how we plan to achieve our aim of a healthier future for Wales. It sets out our seven strategic priorities to demonstrate our key areas of focus.
Since 2018 external factors including the pandemic have impacted on the public health in Wales, meaning that we need to assess our current strategy to make sure it is still right or identify any changes that need to be made.
This means that you’ll be joining us at an exciting time, as we set out to re-evaluate and then implement our new and improved long-term strategy.
Details about the roles are below and can also be seen on the Welsh Government website where you will also find more information about how to apply.
About our Board
Our Board is made up a Chair, six Non-Executive Directors (also known as Independent members) and five Executive Directors, including the Chief Executive and Chief Finance Officer. Our Chair is Jan Williams OBE. For more information on our Board and Executive Team - Public Health Wales
