Please wear a face covering when visiting our hospital sites

We are seeing an increase in COVID-19 infections and other respiratory viruses across Cardiff and Vale, including within our hospitals and across community settings.

In the interest of protecting colleagues, patients and their families, the Health Board has reviewed the situation and is asking all patients and visitors to continue to wear a face covering when attending hospital sites, including in wider areas such as corridors.

Our colleagues are wearing fluid-repellent surgical face masks in all areas where they provide direct care to patients, and we are asking the same from members of the public to support us in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 and other acute respiratory viruses to their loved ones and staff.

If you are visiting a loved one in hospital, all visitors are required to wear a fluid-repellent surgical mask for the duration of their visit.

We also ask that you do not attend our hospital sites if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or other respiratory conditions, such as flu.

If a visitor is unable to comply with the wearing of face coverings when in clinical areas, you may be asked to leave the ward by our colleagues. This is to ensure we can keep your loved one, our colleagues and other patients safe.

We ask the public to treat all of our colleagues with the same level of respect you would expect to receive. We operate a zero-tolerance policy as an organisation, and any abusive conduct will not be tolerated.

Thank you for your continued support and co-operation at this time.
