On Saturday 14 May  B.A.R.S. will be running two special events

The first event Barry Amateur Radio Society (BARS) is hosting a radio and electronics “table top sale” in the Sully Sports & Social club. South Road Sully. From 9:30 to 12:00 noon. Great chance for “hobbyists to get those elusive bits & pieces for computer & radio projects.

Then on the same day. Our special event “Radio team” will be on Penarth Barrage near the “Skateboard arena”  together with the “RSPB & Flat Holm Society”. The RSPB will promote their “Swift Tower” built by the river to encourage “Swifts & Swallows” back to nest in Cardiff Bay. We in B.A.R.S. will be running a radio event alongside them to commemorate the 125th year  anniversary of Marconi`s historic transmission from Flat Holm island to Lavernock in May 1897. At this radio event I will teach the visiting children to send their names in Morse Code and will be rewarded with a certificate of their achievement. The radio event starts at 12:00 noon.
