Not long until Cowbridge Music Festival 2023!
15th-24th September 2023
Just two weeks from now, the 2023 Cowbridge Music Festival will be in full swing! Roderick Williams and Iain Burnside will have launched the festival with their opening concert, and BBC Radio 3 will be setting up to record Trio Gaspard's performance.
Tickets are selling well, with some concerts approaching capacity and one already sold out. We would encourage you to book soon, to avoid disappointment.
With renowned baritone (and familiar face from the Coronation!) Roderick Williams, acclaimed pianist Iain Burnside, our beloved Associate Artist Llŷr Williams, our Artistic Director Rosalind Ventris (who has just played at the BBC Proms) and Germany's Trio Gaspard all descending on Cowbridge in the first weekend, the festival is sure to get off to a thrilling start. This is not to mention the wonderful flute, viola and harp ensemble Trio Anima, our Young Artist Tomos Boyles, and the distinguished Choir of St Paul’s Knightsbridge.
As ever, we have an array of music from around the world, with the rising stars of the Ukrainian Bandura duo Dvi Doli, the astounding Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company, and the trailblazing Welsh-Indian fusion band Khamira. Jazz lovers are also in for a treat: spellbinding soul singer Dionne Bennett and her band The Pepper Seeds, and the Power of Gower Big Band are all coming to Cowbridge.
And let's not forget our Family Concert with Children's Musical Adventures! This year, pirates will be coming to Cowbridge, as Captain Patch and his crew set off on an adventure in search of the lost sea shanty! This concert promises fun for all the family, and especially for children aged 4-11.
The Festival Fringe returns, and this year includes the ever popular Jazz Brunch, a free concert by young Welsh ensemble Quartet Draig, and a Community Music Day. See below for further details.
