New parking restrictions provide more flexibility for patients and visitors outside peak hours
On-site parking restrictions at the University Hospital of Wales have changed to provide more flexibility for patients and visitors outside of peak hours.
From April 2023, patients and visitors parking at the University Hospital of Wales outside of peak hours are able to use any designated car park, excluding drop zones.
Patients and visitors must continue to use designated patient and visitor parking spaces between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. These car parks are clearly identified by blue signage.
Further, patients and visitors will no longer be restricted to 4 hours of free parking outside of peak hours (8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).
Our patient and visitor car parks continue to allow four hours of free parking between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Where required, patients and visitors can extend the length of their stay for an additional 2 hours by entering their vehicle registration information at the parking terminals provided.
Enforcement will be retained at all times for blue badge parking and traffic management.
These changes bring parking restrictions at UHW in line with University Hospital Llandough and Barry Hospital.
More information on parking at our hospital sites can be found here.
These changes also allow Cardiff and Vale UHB colleagues to use any designated car park during off-peak hours. Please note that during peak hours, staff must have a permit to park in staff car parks.
