LGBT+ History Month 2024

February marks LGBT+ History Month and this year’s theme is medicine. The month will serve to highlight the past, present and future of LGBT+ people within medicine, including the pioneering work done by queer people in history and the health inequalities still faced today.

People are at the centre of everything we do. As part of the Shaping Our Future Wellbeing strategy refresh, we’re promoting our inclusive culture, where the diversity of the Health Board’s people will be representative of the Health Board’s local populations

People being supported to live healthily, enabled by healthy and supportive environments, is key to achieving the Health Board’s vision. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board stand firmly in support of LGBTQ+ colleagues and patients - during LGBT+ History Month and every month after.

As we celebrate LGBT+ History Month, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board looks internally at its strategic equality objectives and we need your help in ensuring we deliver an exceptional, accessible and inclusive environment for all.

We are committed to acting on our social, moral and ethical obligations to promote equality of opportunity and outcome.

We are asking for feedback on our strategic equality objectives. Please take some time to fill in our survey today.
