Join Cyfle Cymru as a Volunteer Peer Mentor

Are you looking to make a difference in your community by supporting others on their journey to recovery and personal growth? Cyfle Cymru is currently recruiting Volunteer Peer Mentors to join our Cardiff and Vale team.

About Cyfle Cymru
We are a peer mentoring service that values lived experience. Our team consists of individuals who have overcome challenges related to substance use and mental health, and we believe these experiences can be powerful tools for helping others. As part of our mission, we hire people with similar lived experiences to support and mentor participants who are facing similar journeys.

Volunteer Peer Mentor Role
As a Volunteer Peer Mentor, you will work closely with our Lead Peer Mentor, providing guidance, support, and training to participants on the project. You will assist participants in developing employability skills, accessing volunteering placements, and working toward employment or further education. This includes helping with CV writing, job applications, interview preparation, and supporting participants in training and work placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Peer Mentors to deliver services such as training, volunteering placements, and employability support.

  • Provide support and guidance to participants referred by partner agencies.

  • Help identify training and employment opportunities for participants.

  • Assist in goal setting, CV development, and job application processes.

  • Maintain records in compliance with organisational and European Social Fund regulations.

  • Collaborate with mental health peer mentors and other service partners.

Why Volunteer with Us?
If you have lived experience of substance use or mental health challenges and want to give back by helping others navigate their recovery journey, Cyfle Cymru is the place for you. Your insights and experiences are invaluable, and you’ll be part of a community dedicated to making a real difference in people’s lives.
