To build on the pioneering work of our current CEO, Judi Rhys MBE and her departure we’re looking for a Chief Executive to make gains on our successes and promote our ambition for a future where the best access and support to cancer treatment is provided to anyone affected by cancer to live their best lives.

Reporting into the Board and working with an experienced Director team the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the right level of experience matched with passion and a commitment to our strategic ambitions to drive our agenda forwards, building on existing momentum developing partnerships.

With a Cardiff city centre Head Office Tenovus Cancer Care is primarily Wales focused as its leading cancer charity. Our experienced nurses, counsellors and benefits advisors help more than 10% of the 20,000 people diagnosed in Wales every year.  And, with a turnover of £9.6m we’re confident we’ll continue to be there for the thousands of people affected by cancer we’ve supported for over 80 years.

With increasing numbers of more than 1000 volunteers and loyal bands of supporters this role champions our presence and people’s voices.  We make change through communities so these places and the people across them are at the heart of how we deliver impact to make a difference when it comes to cancer-related issues.

Through our All-Wales Cancer Community insight and policy work we’ve recently supported Clare’s Campaign around
gynaecological cancer inequalities and shone a light on less survivable cancers.

With a strategic focus on equality, diversity and inclusion we’re proud to have been awarded the Gold Standard in recognition of our commitment to this area by Diverse Cymru.

At Tenovus Cancer Care we’re committed to making our workplace diverse and inclusive where everyone feels they belong and can be their authentic selves at work. We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer who does not discriminate based on the Equality Act 2010’s Protected Characteristics. All qualified applicants will receive equal consideration for employment, and we will adjust our recruitment processes where we can support people who wish to join us. Please contact people@tenovuscancercare.org.uk for additional support during the recruitment process as required.
