A new form of Tennis that everyone can play is coming to Cowbridge
Walking Tennis is starting at Cowbridge Tennis on Wednesday, May 26th from 10.00 - 11.00. Walking Tennis is a new form of tennis that is inclusive and can be played by anyone who can walk and hold a racket.
Walking tennis is a slowed down version of the game. The rules are the same as tennis but a double bounce is permitted and slower balls are used, making it easier to play than the traditional game.
It is an ideal game for those who might consider themselves too unfit, too slow, too old, unable because of injury or not skilled enough to play the full game.
Playing walking tennis can bring real benefits, aside from the physical health gains, players benefit from the boost of being outdoors with the mental health benefits of exercise, interaction with others, and a sense of achievement of developing new skills.
In addition, it offers players the chance to make new friends and can act as a stepping stone to help people progress into the more traditional version of Tennis, or into other sports that they previously thought were out of reach.
Cowbridge Tennis will be launching its new Walking Tennis Classes on Wednesday May 26th, at 10.00 am where anyone can come along and try this new inclusive form of tennis. To find out more visit walkingtennis.org
