Helping those with Sight Loss

We are a charity that provide services to those with sight loss.  Our services include clubs and groups, wellbeing services, IT support and much more.

We have three clubs that meet within the Vale of Glamorgan to help support those with sight loss on a weekly basis.  We have varied programs which include speakers, demonstrations lunches and entertainment as well as you being able to share your own experiences of sight loss with each other.

If you are aged 18+, perhaps you could spare a few hours to help out at our Cowbridge and Barry social clubs for those with a vision impairment.  We are looking for people who have a good sense of humour, compassionate, organised and proactive.

We would need only a couple of hours of your time a week to:

  • Help make refreshments

  • Be assistance with sight loss e.g. read material, guide

  • Help put together programmes

  • Contact possible speakers etc.

The opportunity is both rewarding and enjoyable and it’s a great way to meet new people and learn new skills.

You can do as little or as much as you want, we welcome you to come along and get involved.

Time commitment:  The clubs run in the morning and afternoon, fortnightly, starting on the 16th January.   Cowbridge club runs 10:30am - 12:30pm at Cowbridge Library.  The Barry club runs 1:30am – 3:30pm at Golau Caredig.  NEW Penarth club starts on the 19th of January at Penarth Library, 10 - 12 on a monthly basis.
