February 2022: 'How Are We Doing in Wales' public engagement survey results
The results of the latest ‘How Are We Doing in Wales’ public engagement survey have been released by Public Health Wales:
The key findings from February’s survey are:
38 per cent of people said they were ‘not at all’ worried about catching coronavirus; up from 30 per cent in January 2022.
50 per cent of people said they were ‘not at all’ worried about losing someone they loved to the virus; up from 38 per cent in January 2022.
76 per cent of people agreed they felt a strong sense of control over their life. However, 12 per cent disagreed and the remainder neither agreed nor disagreed.
This month participants were also asked how happy they were with a range of aspects of life in Wales. Being happy refers to scores of 7 - 10 on a scale from 0 (not at all happy) to 10 (completely happy).
78 per cent of people were happy with their life in general.
69 per cent of people were happy with the NHS in general.
66 per cent of people were happy with the area they lived in.
43 per cent of people were happy with crime control.
34 per cent of people were happy with the Welsh economy.
31 per cent of people were happy with opportunities for children growing up in Wales.
The latest Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) public engagement survey report from Public Health Wales covers 7th – 28th February 2022, when 1004 people were surveyed.
Public Health Wales has conducted interviews with thousands of people aged 18 or over across Wales, to understand how Coronavirus and the measures being used to prevent its spread are affecting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of people in Wales. Over the last two years, more than 26,000 Welsh residents have participated in the survey.
The survey is part of a raft of measures implemented by Public Health Wales to support public health and wellbeing through Coronavirus.
