Community Woodland Management Volunteers Wanted!
We are incredibly lucky to have a beautiful semi-ancient woodland at Amelia Trust. We want to ensure it continues to be a natural asset for the community and wildlife. Could you join us and become one of our community woodland management volunteers?
Could you become a community woodland volunteer?
If you live in Barry, Cardiff, Cowbridge, or the surrounding areas, you’ve got some spare time, and you love getting stuck into new projects, we would love to hear from you!
Our aim is to form a group of woodland volunteers who can give our woodland a new lease of life. Led by Morgan, our Community Woodlands Lead, you don’t need any previous experience of woodland management, but an interest in nature, wildlife, and the natural environment would be a huge plus.
What will volunteering include?
You’ll help to revive and manage the woodland in order to support biodiversity and improve accessibility. Thanks to you, many more visitors and groups will be able to enjoy the wonders that the woodland offers. You’ll also have the perfect reason to spend plenty of time in the fresh air, getting to know wildlife, the local environment, and of course, meet new people.
When will the volunteering be?
We are looking for volunteers who are available on a Monday, but don’t let that put you off. If you’re keen to get involved and a Monday doesn’t suit you, please feel free to get in touch.
Why would I become a community woodland volunteer?
Volunteering is an excellent way to have new experiences, develop new skills, and feel closer to your local community. As a woodland management volunteer you will play a key role in looking after the woodland and all its inhabitants both now and for future generations.
How can I find out more?
