Community Safety Support Volunteer
Volunteer with us and your time and skills could help make a difference to our communities across South Wales. Our volunteers aged 16+ provide support by attending community events and educational sessions to help share important safety messages; including how to reduce the risk of fire in our homes, and how to stay safe on our roads and around water.
Other optional activities include role-playing as part of training exercises, and supporting our teams during assessment or training days.
Our volunteering activity takes place during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, and occasional weekends. Most of our volunteers spend around four to six hours a month with us.
You don’t need any specialist skills or experience, so we would love to hear from you if:
You are keen to support one of the fire stations listed above
You enjoy talking to members of the public and feel passionate about playing a part in reducing risk in your local community
You have your own transport or are able to use public transport
You are aged 16 or over
You are able to volunteer for at least six months
And if you are ready to try something new with a great team!
You could benefit from volunteering with us through:
Being part of a team and meeting new people
Building your communication skills
Developing your knowledge about risk reduction
Gaining an understanding of what we do to support our communities
Contributing your existing knowledge and skills to help others
Feeling appreciated for giving up your time
