Citizens Advice Cardiff & Vale (CACV) Training in November
The new Government has been in place for a few months, and its much-anticipated budget is set to be announced at the end of the month. While some changes have already been introduced, further developments are expected. It’s important to stay informed and prepared for potential impacts on the advice and support we provide across the country.

After this session, attendees will understand how to:
· Categorise benefits as contributory, non-contributory or means-tested
· Identify the benefits clients may be entitled to
· Understand the different types of benefits, their rates and their eligibility criteria
· The types of issues you might encounter in a benefits setting
Dealing with eviction – 20/11/2024 at 10:00
After this session, attendees will understand:
· An occupation contract holder’s rights against eviction
· The eviction process
· What a fair and legal eviction looks like
· What an unfair eviction looks
· How to challenge an eviction notice
· What support is available
· How best to support someone facing eviction
· The types of situations you might encounter in a frontline setting
Migrant Rights & Public Services – 27/11/2024 at 10:00
After this session, attendees will understand:
· What services migrants are eligible to receive
· The difference in the rights of EU nationals
· How migration status links to UK Government Immigration Acts
· How best to support migrants with various issues, from housing to welfare benefits
