Tackling child poverty remains a priority for the Welsh Government, many of the levers for change lie with the UK Government. However, there is action to be taken in Wales to improve the day to day lives of and outcomes for children and young people living in poverty.  We want every child and young person, no matter what their family income is, to be able to realise their rights.

We cannot do this alone. We are calling on all our key partners across Wales to mobilise, strengthening the impact of our collective efforts by working together towards a common goal. As part of this work we are refreshing the Child poverty strategy for Wales: report | GOV.WALES 2015.

We’re asking you to be part of an important conversation about
national priorities for tackling poverty and about how these can be delivered in partnership, with local government and the public sector, and with wider partners in Wales.

This is the first phase of engagement work, where we are asking professionals and organisations to provide their views and expertise.

Written Statement: Publication of the Welsh Government’s Child Poverty Progress Report 2022 (13 December 2022) | GOV.WALES
