Check out the new Project Zero Hub

Project Zero is the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s response to the Climate and Nature Emergencies. It brings together the wide range of work and opportunities available to tackle climate change, reduce the Council’s carbon emissions to net zero by 2030, care for nature, and encourage others to make positive changes.

New for 2024, the online Project Zero hub now includes a 'What's happening in our communities' page that aims to highlight some of the amazing community-led work helping make the Vale a greener place to live, visit, and work. The page invites groups to tell the Council a bit about their work and will eventually map out community projects across the Vale.

Community groups and projects are encouraged to complete the short online form so that the Council can celebrate their work.

Since the online hub launched in February 2023, the Council has done a huge amount of work to become more environmentally friendly and to support communities to do the same.

The refreshed hub showcases some examples of this work under the 'what are we doing' section, to raise awareness of the Council's commitment to delivering its Climate Change Challenge Plan.

The 'What can you do' section of the hub details some simple changes people can make to reduce their waste, and carbon footprint, increase their energy efficiency, and enhance their local environment and invites visitors to suggest more ideas.

Prosiect Zero yw ymateb Cyngor Bro Morgannwg i'r Argyfyngau Hinsawdd a Natur. Mae'n dwyn ynghyd yr ystod eang o waith a chyfleoedd sydd ar gael i fynd i'r afael â newid yn yr hinsawdd, lleihau allyriadau carbon y Cyngor i sero net erbyn 2030, gofalu am natur, ac annog eraill i wneud newidiadau cadarnhaol.

Yn newydd ar gyfer 2024, mae canolbwynt ar-lein Prosiect Zero bellach yn cynnwys tudalen 'Beth sy'n digwydd yn ein cymunedau' sy'n ceisio tynnu sylw at rywfaint o'r gwaith anhygoel dan arweiniad y gymuned sy'n helpu i wneud y Fro yn lle gwyrddach i fyw, ymweld â hi a gweithio. Mae'r dudalen yn gwahodd grwpiau i ddweud ychydig wrth y Cyngor am eu gwaith ac yn y pen draw byddant yn mapio prosiectau cymunedol ar draws y Fro.

Anogir grwpiau a phrosiectau cymunedol i lenwi'r ffurflen fer ar-lein er mwyn i'r Cyngor allu dathlu eu gwaith.

Ers lansio'r canolfan ar-lein ym mis Chwefror 2023, mae'r Cyngor wedi gwneud llawer iawn o waith i ddod yn fwy cyfeillgar i'r amgylchedd ac i gefnogi cymunedau i wneud yr un peth.

Mae'r hyb sydd wedi'i adnewyddu yn arddangos rhai enghreifftiau o'r gwaith hwn o dan yr adran 'beth ydym yn ei wneud', i godi ymwybyddiaeth o ymrwymiad y Cyngor i gyflawni ei Gynllun Her Newid Hinsawdd.

Mae adran 'Beth allwch chi ei wneud' o'r hyb yn rhoi manylion am rai newidiadau syml y gall pobl eu gwneud i leihau eu gwastraff, a'u hôl troed carbon, cynyddu eu heffeithlonrwydd ynni, a gwella eu hamgylchedd lleol ac yn gwahodd ymwelwyr i awgrymu mwy o syniadau.
